About

Robert and Zsanett run Aqualis from Mala Garska Bay, known locally as Sirena Bay, a quiet inlet away from the bustle of Hvar's harbour. Robert brings over a decade of experience as a commercial diver and scuba instructor with more than a thousand logged dives. Zsanett is a medical doctor specializing in hyperbaric medicine. Before founding Aqualis they managed the Viking Diving Center in Hvar Town for four years, then relocated to this larger seafront location with direct beach and boat access. They also operate a sister centre on Sal Island, Cape Verde.

The centre holds dual PADI and SSI certification, staffs six instructors, and covers a wide programme: courses from Discover Scuba through Divemaster, two-tank morning boat dives, night dives with a minimum of three divers, and SSI freediving certifications. The fleet consists of an 8-metre motorboat carrying 12 divers and a 6.5-metre RIB for private or two-tank outings. Morning departures visit two sites across the Pakleni Islands archipelago, leaving afternoons free to explore the island. The house reef in Sirena Bay serves for training dives and shore entries.

With 40 full equipment sets, 70 steel tanks, and dual compressors, the centre is equipped to handle its own rental needs. A PADI Adaptive Services Facility designation means barrier-free boat access for divers with disabilities.

What Divers Say

Reviews paint a picture of a centre where professionalism and a relaxed atmosphere coexist. A visiting PADI instructor described the operation as professional with a laid-back feel, praising Robert, Zsanett, and their team's welcoming approach. Beginners highlight the patience of the instructors and the sheltered bay as an ideal setting for first dives. More experienced divers point to well-maintained equipment, thorough briefings, and an approach to safety that does not feel restrictive. The on-site beach bar and its post-dive tradition round out the experience.
