Sea turtles

Cheloniidae

One of the most magical encounters in diving — sea turtles are calm, graceful, and often unbothered by divers. Give them space and they'll continue feeding or resting. Never block their path to the surface, as they need to breathe.

A large, graceful sea turtle with a smooth olive-to-brown shell and lighter underside. The most commonly encountered turtle on tropical reefs, often seen grazing on seagrass or resting under ledges.

Calm and unhurried — will continue feeding if you keep your distance. Never block their path to the surface.
