Nextdives

Nextdives operates as Tenerife Nextdives SL from Alcalá, in the Guía de Isora district on the island's northwest coast. The centre was founded by Michael and Claudia, a couple who met roughly a decade before opening it, both leaving corporate IT careers behind after years of dive-focused holidays in the Maldives, Egypt, the Caribbean and Tenerife itself. Michael trained and worked as an instructor in Mexico before the two decided to open their own operation; Claudia built her own knowledge of the region's marine life through independent study rather than a formal biology background. Instructors Jules Young and Berry round out the team. PADI Five Star IDC status backs a full course ladder, from a first Discover Scuba experience through Rescue Diver, Dry Suit and a run of specialties covering wreck, drift, deep and night diving, plus Divemaster training for those going professional. Snorkelling trips, including an afternoon tour to the centre's own house reef, run alongside the diving programme, and the team covers seven languages between them: English, Spanish, French, German, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian. Adaptive services, conservation activities and local hotel pick-up round out the offering.

As a newer brand, Nextdives' public review record is still thin next to its longer-established NW-zone neighbours. Google carries 126 reviews at a flat 5.0, a strong early signal for a young operation, but the centre doesn't yet have a presence on TripAdvisor, so there's less of a track record here to weigh against than elsewhere in this area. What's visible points in the same direction as the founders' own framing of the business: safety, learning and enjoyment held as equal priorities rather than one crowding out the others, from a couple who spent a decade of holidays chasing this exact career change before finally making it.
