What kind of dive is Isdhoo?▾
Isdhoo Muli is a sloping coral reef descending from around 5m to 20m — a gentle, easy profile with a coral garden and typical Laamu reef fish. It is the opposite end of the spectrum from Laamu's current-driven channels. The calm conditions make it suitable for Open Water divers and less experienced guests.
How far is Isdhoo from the Six Senses Laamu resort?▾
Isdhoo is the northernmost inhabited island in Laamu, at the far end of the eastern reef chain from the resort cluster. Travel time from the main resort base is significant — likely 30-60 minutes by boat depending on the operator. Confirm scheduling with your operator before planning a dive here.
What marine life can I expect at Isdhoo?▾
Site-specific data is thin. Area-wide across Laamu's reefs: sea turtles, eagle rays, reef fish including jacks, snappers, fusiliers, moray eels and typical soft and hard coral formations. The big pelagics associated with Laamu's channels are not reliably found on gentle slope dives like this one.
Is Isdhoo suitable for beginners?▾
Yes. The sloping reef profile to 20m is appropriate for Open Water certified divers. It is one of the more accessible Laamu sites in terms of conditions, with no significant current on the slope.
Is Isdhoo the same as Isdhoo Muli?▾
Isdhoo Muli (muli meaning the outer slope in Dhivehi) is the established dive name for the sloping reef at this island. Dive catalogs also list an Isdhoo Kandu as a separate channel feature nearby, but specific dive operator coverage for a channel here has not been confirmed.
