con Posidonia Dive
Massive unafraid scorpionfish surrounded by spectacular yellow tree sponges and white flabellina nudibranchs.
El Pico is a bit further to the east than other barras, 15 minutes navigation. We anchored to the south-west part, very near to the southern tip, and dived north-west. Like La Virgen, the western part is more deep and rocky than east, which seems to blend more smoothly into the sand. The site has lots of Axinela verrucosa yellow tree-like sponges, tens of them and some quite spectacular. We saw a huge scorpionfish in the open, totally unscared of us and got a really nice video. More nudibranchs appearing, some tiny and some spectacular flabellina-style white bodied ones, often on the round sponges. Bring a camera next time! Also, the west side is covered by green leafed grass or algae which I have not seen so much on the other sites.
