Tamariu House Riff

Seahorses are present but well camouflaged and difficult to spot without help. An experienced guide who knows the current locations dramatically improves your chances. The house reef is frequented by marine biologists precisely because of its biodiversity.

It is one of the best beginner sites on the Costa Brava. The gently sloping bottom, sheltered cove, and maximum depth of 15m make it ideal for discover scuba dives and newly certified divers. Despite the easy conditions, the macro life keeps experienced divers interested.

The German spelling 'Riff' reflects the heritage of the dive base's founder, Gunter Stollberg, who established Stolli's Divebase in 1971 — one of the longest-running dive operations on the Costa Brava.

Nudibranch diversity. Multiple species in different colours and forms populate the gullies and rock faces, making it the strongest macro photography site in the Palamós area. The shallow depth and calm conditions allow long bottom times for detailed shooting.

You must register at Stolli's Divebase before diving the house reef — it is a 2-minute walk from the dive base along the seafront to the entry point. The cove is protected for use by divers and swimmers only.
