Terencio started Ali Sub in 1999, the story goes, after adapting an old fire extinguisher into a makeshift regulator for his son. Alejandro was eight. He now runs the centre alongside his sister Silvia, both of whom grew up in the business from childhood. A marine biologist, Penélope, joined the team more than twenty years ago after falling for the Mediterranean over her native Atlantic and Cantabrian waters.
