About

Apnea Canarias operates from inside Puerto Deportivo de Radazul, a few metres from the sea, and has been professionally dedicated to freediving education since 2009. Radazul Bay itself is the draw: fixed training anchorages at -35m, -45m, and -60m serve course levels directly, and for divers training beyond -60m the centre runs a fast boat with a counterweight system and sonar, backed by safety freedivers on scooters. The coaching team carries genuine competitive pedigree. Miguel Lozano was runner-up in two disciplines at the 2015 AIDA World Deep Championship in Cyprus and became the first Spaniard to reach -100m Constant Weight; in 2016 he reached -122m Free Immersion, at the time the second-deepest FIM dive recorded anywhere. He coaches alongside Santiago Jakas, a former Spanish static-apnea record holder and AIDA international judge; Omar Mourad Mazzarino, a safety-team veteran of the Vertical Blue competition in the Bahamas; Daniel Calvo; and Dunia Quintero, who held the Spanish static-apnea record from 2013 to 2021. On-site facilities include hot-water showers, equipment for rent or sale, a chill-out area with a freediving library, and a theory classroom. Courses run through AIDA, SSI, and Apnea Academy, with the certifying body generally left to the student.
