About

GooDiving runs from Marina San Miguel, on Tenerife's south coast, founded in 2017 by marine biologist Roberta Bracale, who still leads guided dives and personally answers reviews online. The team page lists five instructors and marine biologists in total, Andrea, Roberta, Orsi, Mariana and Laetitia, whose combined careers span diving in Italy, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, the Maldives, Portugal and several Caribbean islands before they settled at Golf del Sur. GooDiving is now an SSI 5-Star Diamond Center, having previously run as a PADI 5-Star IDC. Its signature offer is a marine-biologist-led guided dive: a guide who identifies species live underwater rather than only after the fact, with surface-interval snacks worked into the schedule. The centre reaches more than twenty named south-coast sites by RIB, from its own San Miguel house reef out to Los Chuchos, El Condesito, Montaña Amarilla and, on longer excursions, north-coast stops at Radazul and Tabaiba. Non-divers are covered too, with dedicated whale and dolphin watching trips run alongside the diving programme. A partnership with RedPromar, the regional marine-life monitoring programme run by the Canary Islands government, ties the biology angle into something beyond marketing. Free hotel pickup is offered across the main south Tenerife tourist areas, and the centre operates six days a week, year-round.

What Divers Say

The overwhelming majority of feedback for GooDiving is strongly positive and specific, repeatedly crediting Roberta and the wider team for safety briefings, well-kept equipment, and a guiding style that treats every dive as a chance to learn what's actually in the water. Visitors who return more than once describe it as one of the most comfortable diving experiences they've had, down to details like tanks being carried and gear washed after every dive. Set against that pattern, one experience from November 2025 stands apart. A diver reported that repeated ascent signals during a Discovery dive went unanswered, that they were left alone underwater, and that a follow-up conversation with the centre afterward felt dismissive rather than reassuring. It is a serious complaint, at odds with the pattern found elsewhere in the reviews, and it is included here rather than smoothed over.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who runs GooDiving?
Marine biologist Roberta Bracale, who founded the centre in 2017 and still personally guides dives and replies to reviews online.
What makes GooDiving's guided dives different?
Every guide is a trained marine biologist, identifying species live underwater rather than only in a post-dive briefing.
How many dive sites does GooDiving cover?
More than twenty named south-coast sites, from its own San Miguel house reef out to occasional north-coast excursions at Radazul and Tabaiba.
Can non-divers join a GooDiving trip?
Yes, dedicated whale and dolphin watching excursions run separately from the diving programme.
Does GooDiving work with any conservation programmes?
Yes, it partners with RedPromar, the Canary Islands government's marine-life monitoring programme.
Is GooDiving well reviewed?
Yes, the large majority of feedback is strongly positive and specific about safety briefings and instructor care. A serious complaint from November 2025, involving an unanswered ascent signal during a Discovery dive, is also part of the public record and worth weighing alongside that pattern.
