Los Gigantes Diving Centre, marketed online as Diving Tenerife, operates from the Marina Arcade in Los Gigantes, tucked behind La Paella Restaurant between piers five and six. It bills itself as Tenerife's first PADI 5-Star IDC Centre and holds BSAC School status (No. 167), and has been run by the Widdrington family since 1990, the oldest of the cluster. The centre's own site publishes one of the most detailed dive-site catalogues in the area, individually describing fifteen named sites, from the wall-diving favourite Atlantis and its sequel Atlantis 2 (Giant's Causeway) to Barranco Seco Arch, Rolf's Cave and a formation nicknamed The Cornflakes. Diving runs from a 7.5-metre RIB licensed for twelve, with morning trips typically visiting two different sites and returning by early afternoon, the surface interval covered with coffee and a cylinder change. Plenty of reviewers describe solid, competent open-water instruction and a genuinely enjoyable family dive, the straightforward positive experience that makes up most of its review base. Set against that, at least two detailed and recent reports describe a sharply different visit: poor communication, a dismissive response to safety concerns raised on the day, and a disputed refusal to refund a cancelled booking. These aren't one-line complaints, and they're recent enough, from 2023 and 2025, to weigh seriously rather than write off as isolated history. The centre's ratings, 4.2 on TripAdvisor and 3.9 on Google, sit below most other Los Gigantes operators, a number that reflects this same split rather than a uniformly positive picture.
