About

Aquarius Dive Center Tenerife has run from El Fraile, on the south coast near Las Galletas, since 2005. It holds PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center status and is also a PADI TecRec facility, pairing a full recreational course ladder with a genuine technical-diving programme: Tec 40 through Tec 50, trimix, and sidemount, backed by on-site nitrox, trimix, and oxygen fills. The centre has run as a Scubapro-partnered dive shop for more than fifteen years and was the first in the Canary Islands to hold Scubapro S.E.A. status, reflected in a rental fleet built almost entirely around that brand, including demo gear for divers deciding what to buy. A named, multi-instructor team runs day-to-day operations: Harry Bakker, a PADI Master Instructor covering technical specialties who has been diving since 1990; Doina Geana, a Divemaster and marketing lead with roots in the brand's Romania branch; and Dave Brown and Mihai, who handle equipment and general diving duties. Boat trips leave by van transfer to Las Galletas harbour each morning at 09:00, visiting two different sites before returning around 1pm, with the mooring only a short walk from the drop-off point. Boat access covers more than 30 named sites within 15 minutes of the harbour, spanning wrecks, reef, and cave terrain along the south coast. Snorkelling trips run alongside the diving programme for non-divers aged 10 and up.

What Divers Say

Aquarius holds a 5.0 average across 330 Google reviews and 121 on TripAdvisor, placing it among the higher-volume, higher-scoring centres reviewed this wave. A recurring theme is patience with beginners, families, and children on the boat, alongside repeated mentions of a smooth, well-organised trip structure for both single dives and multi-day courses. Divers working through the technical sidemount pathway describe the instruction as professional and the day-to-day logistics as well handled across a full schedule of dives. Marine life mentioned by name in reviews includes seahorses, nudibranch, and angel sharks.
