About

Bluewater Menorca (legal name: Bluewater Scuba SL) operates from the marina at Cala'n Bosch, adjacent to the Cap d'Artrutx lighthouse on Menorca's southwest coast. The centre is the only dive operation in the southwest with its own boat — a practical monopoly on a coastline that holds some of the island's most visited dive sites. From the marina berth, the boat "Blauet" reaches the Pont d'en Gil cave system, the Malakoff wreck at 38-40m, and more than 20 named sites along the west coast that have no shore access.

The centre runs SSI certification programmes from beginner to technical level (Extended Range), with a marine biologist on the team who designs snorkel tours and brings a conservation-science dimension to dive briefings. Equipment includes Mares, Apeks, and Aqualung gear; full rental sets run 15 EUR per dive, including dive computer, SMB, reel, and line cutter — a complete kit, not a bare package.

A second location at Cala Santandria provides an additional access point. The centre is a listed Menorca Slow Diving operator and serves guests in seven languages: Catalan, Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, and Swiss German. Online booking is available through the centre's own system and third-party platforms.

What Divers Say

Bluewater Menorca's ratings are consistently among the strongest for any dive centre in the Balearics, with a first-place ranking among outdoor activities in Cala'n Bosch. Experienced instructors, professional staff, and equipment described as high-quality and regularly inspected are the themes that reviewers return to most often. Personalized attention receives consistent mention — a signal that small group sizes remain a priority despite the volume of positive feedback. For a single-boat, two-location operation on a mid-sized island, the consistency across both platforms reflects a programme that runs reliably from season to season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Bluewater Menorca accept divers certified with PADI or CMAS?
The centre teaches SSI programmes, which carry global recognition. Certified divers from PADI, CMAS, or other recognised agencies are welcome on guided dives — contact the centre to confirm your certification is accepted for the specific dives you have in mind.
Why are so many west coast sites accessible only through Bluewater Menorca?
The southwest coastline has no shore access to most of its dive sites. Bluewater Menorca is the only operator in the area with its own boat, so Pont d'en Gil, the Malakoff wreck, and more than 15 additional named sites simply cannot be reached any other way.
What does the equipment rental package include at Bluewater Menorca?
The full rental set costs 15 EUR per dive and includes a dive computer, SMB, reel, and line cutter — a complete working kit. Tank and weights are included in the dive package price.
Is the Malakoff wreck suitable for recreational divers?
The Malakoff sits at 38-40m, which exceeds the 30m Open Water recreational limit. SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification is the minimum. Contact the centre for current prerequisites and conditions before booking this site.
Can I book online with Bluewater Menorca?
Yes. Booking is available through the centre's own system at bluewatermenorca.com, and also via GetYourGuide and Manawa for guided dives and snorkelling excursions. Direct contact by phone or WhatsApp is available for packages and technical courses.
Does Bluewater Menorca offer snorkelling alongside diving?
Yes. Guided snorkelling excursions of around 3.5 hours run from Cala'n Bosch, including a marine biologist-led option along the south coast. These are open to non-divers and can be booked separately.
