JustDive

JustDive, trading as JustDive - Blue Academy, holds SSI Instructor Training Center status, facility ID 735157, from a base on Rua Dr. Ernesto Moreira in central Peniche. Beyond the SSI recreational ladder, the school holds Portugal's professional-diver certification from DGAM, a four-category operating license from IPDJ, and nature-tourism licensing from ICNF: credentials a straightforward recreational dive shop does not usually carry.

Boat trips run three times a day in summer, at 08:30, 14:00 and 18:00, out to Berlenga Grande, the outer Farilhões and Estelas islet groups, and a sheltered mainland site near the Peniche fortress. Winter departures move to weekends and public holidays, subject to sea conditions and a minimum number of divers.

Training runs from Scuba Diver through Open Water Diver, at 395 euros, which qualifies a new diver to buddy-dive below 18 metres, up through professional and instructor-training levels. The Deep Diving specialty, at 295 euros, is the deepest course on offer, certifying to 40 metres. Alongside diving, JustDive teaches freediving, lifeguard training and recreational-boating courses, and runs a free SSI e-learning portal so theory is done before a diver arrives.

An in-house workshop services and maintains gear, and a compressed-air and nitrox filling station operates as a standalone service, not only a rental counter.

Reviews are heavily positive and consistent on the same point: divers repeatedly describe feeling safe and well taught, with equipment and facilities kept in good order. A smaller thread running through the lower-starred reviews centres on booking and logistics, not on the diving itself: an advance reservation the centre had no record of on arrival, and a Berlengas crossing one reviewer attributes to a chronically faulty boat steering wheel and not the stated weather, with photo delivery singled out separately as slow. The reviewers who raise it still rate the instructors and crew themselves as safe and competent.
