About

Scubazores Divers runs a dive shop and dive centre on the Silveira road in Angra do Heroismo, on Terceira's north coast, operating since around 2021. Course offerings span five SSI levels: Try Scuba and Basic Diver introduce new divers, Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver build certification, and a three-hour Scuba Skills Update session exists for anyone easing back in after time out of the water. Guided boat and shore dives run alongside the course schedule.

Its own published Spots page names eleven dive locations around Terceira. The range runs from the shore-accessible Lidador wreck, rated easy and pitched at first-time divers and snorkellers, out to Baixa da Serreta at 35 m, which it sets at Advanced Open Water minimum for the currents and depth there. Further along the coast, Ilheu do Norte / Pedra Perdida is flagged as an exposed site where strong currents can occur, recommended for experienced divers only.

Beyond diving, the centre runs snorkelling and boat tours to Ilheu das Cabras (Goat Islet), offers sea-scooter and ROV dive experiences, and sells wetsuits and gear through its own equipment shop. It also runs a second service point, Marina Store, elsewhere in Angra do Heroismo. It operates its own dive boat and runs in Portuguese and English.

What divers say

This centre's reputation holds up across two separate review platforms, not just one, and both keep landing on the same three names: Diogo draws the strongest praise, called a phenomenal, professional guide; Ana is described as patient and attentive to safety; and Zeferino gets credited alongside the team for the boat and equipment. Two critical notes stand apart, without echoing each other: one visitor was let down by the snorkelling portion of a boat tour while rating the tour itself highly, and another flagged the timeliness and organisation of a booking. Both stay isolated against an otherwise consistently positive record on both platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What certification do I need to dive with Scubazores Divers?▾

An Open Water Diver certification is the general minimum for its guided fun dives. It asks for more at Baixa da Serreta, the deepest spot it names at 35 m, requiring at least Advanced Open Water for the currents and depth there. For Cemiterio das Ancoras, at 30 m, the stated minimum is still Open Water Diver, deeper than the standard depth limit for that certification, so divers holding only Open Water should check directly with the centre before booking that dive.

Which of Scubazores Divers' dive sites is the most demanding?▾

Its own site list flags Ilheu do Norte / Pedra Perdida as an exposed spot where strong currents can occur, recommended for experienced divers only. At the other end of the range, the shore-accessible Lidador wreck is rated easy, suited to beginners, discovery dives and snorkelling.

Is Scubazores Divers open on Sundays?▾

That depends on which listing is trusted: one shows it closed on Sundays, another shows the same 09:00-18:00 hours as the rest of the week. Confirm directly with the centre before planning a Sunday visit.

Does Scubazores Divers have more than one location in Angra do Heroismo?▾

Yes. Alongside its main shop and dive centre on the Silveira road, it also runs a Marina Store service point in Angra do Heroismo's marina. The two share a phone number and website, but the Marina Store carries its own separate customer reviews, not combined with the main shop's total.

How much does a guided dive cost with Scubazores Divers?▾

Its published guided fun-dive rates run EUR 60 per person for a single dive, EUR 110 for two, EUR 295 for five dives plus one bonus dive, and EUR 495 for ten dives plus one bonus dive, all requiring at least an Open Water Diver certification.

Which dive sites does Scubazores Divers visit beyond Terceira's catalogued list?▾

Its own Spots page names several locations not yet catalogued individually here: the shore dives at Calheta do Lagador and Porto dos Biscoitos, both rated easy, and the deeper Baixa da Vila Nova, Gruta dos Cavaco and Ilheu da Mina, each capped around 30-35 m.
