About Bluedream Cozumel
A short walk from a hotel room to the boat shapes almost everything about this operation. Bluedream Cozumel dives from the beach at Hotel Playa Azul, in Cozumel's north hotel zone, well clear of the harbour front in San Miguel, so guests of Playa Azul and the neighbouring Westin reach the boat on foot. Its own pricing page and a separately compiled boat-registration roster both put the vessel's capacity at six divers, and customers on two review platforms independently report four or five aboard: the best-corroborated fact about how this centre actually runs. Courses use a tighter ratio: up to two students per instructor, a different figure for a different product.
Its position in the north also backs the pitch it makes for itself: it says it dives the northern reefs, including an eagle ray aggregation that runs roughly December to April, alongside the wall sites most Cozumel boats sell from the south alone. The Marine Park fee comes folded into the price of a guided dive; a further fee applies specifically for the southern Palancar reefs. The course catalogue runs further than the reef programme too: alongside the standard recreational ladder through Divemaster, Bluedream teaches Intro to Cave and Tec 40/45 under TDI, qualifications that pair more naturally with its own cenote day trips and bull shark excursions off Playa del Carmen than with the dives from its own beach. Instruction runs in English, Spanish and Italian.
What divers say
Group size is the theme reviewers return to most often: four or five people on the boat, comfortably under the operator's own six-diver limit, and several name it directly as the reason they booked. A second, equally consistent thread credits hands-on ownership: quick answers before the trip and the same small crew back on the boat, trip after trip. More than one reviewer also singles out patience teaching children through an Open Water certification. Complaints are close to absent from what was read, though that reflects a favourable, recently-sorted sample more than a guarantee: a wider, older slice of the same review base does include a handful of average-to-poor ratings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a taxi into San Miguel to dive with this centre?▾
No. The shop sits on the beach at Hotel Playa Azul, in the north hotel zone, a boat ride north of San Miguel town. Guests of Playa Azul or the neighbouring Westin can walk from their room to the boat; anyone staying elsewhere on the island arranges a pickup or short taxi to the same beach.
Is the six-diver group size the same for courses as for regular dive trips?▾
No, and the two should not be confused. Guided boat diving runs up to six divers per guide, the figure backed by the operator's own page, an independent boat-registration roster and customer reports on two platforms. Certification courses use a tighter ratio, published separately as up to two students per instructor.
Does the Cozumel Marine Park fee cost extra on top of the dive price?▾
Not with this operator. This centre's dive price already includes the park fee. Several other Cozumel centres add it as a separate per-diver charge; this one does not. A separate fee still applies if you dive the Palancar reefs in the south.
What does the bull shark and cenote excursion actually involve?▾
Both are off-island day trips, leaving from the ferry pier instead of the centre's own beach. The bull shark dive is at Playa del Carmen from November to March, around 20 metres, and requires Advanced Open Water; the cenote trip runs year-round in the Tulum area at 5 to 18 metres and only requires Open Water. Both cap at six divers with a private guide, and pricing is set per booking, not published as a flat rate.
Why does a small reef operator on Cozumel teach cave and decompression courses?▾
Its own course catalogue reaches well past typical reef-shop territory, up to Intro to Cave under TDI and NACD standards and Tec 40/45 decompression training. Those qualifications line up with the centre's cenote day trips into Tulum-area cave country more than with the reefs off its own beach, which is a genuinely unusual combination for a Cozumel operator this size.
How does this operator compare to Cozumel's bigger dive shops on customer feedback?▾
It ranks 48th out of 618 boat-tour and water-sports operators recorded across the island, on a rating close to five stars, well inside the destination's larger operator field.
