About Diving Dragonera
Sa Dragonera rises from the sea eight kilometres southwest of Port d'Andratx, and Diving Dragonera has been launching from this harbour toward it since 1987. The legal entity is Deep Water Aquatics S.L., but the trading brand takes its name from the island — and from the daily boat trips to Sa Dragonera natural park that form the backbone of the programme. One of Mallorca's oldest dive schools, the centre sits at Av. Almirante Riera Alemany, 23, on the harbour promenade, with RIB Barracuda moored at the jetty directly in front of the building.
At least two departures run each day: one consistently to Sa Dragonera, a second to different sites along the 30+ dive site roster of SW Mallorca. Weekly runs extend north to El Toro nature reserve. The full PADI 5-Star IDC curriculum covers the range from beginner through Divemaster, with junior divers from age 10 included in the programme. Specialty courses available include deep, navigation, night diving, and nitrox. A two-hour snorkelling excursion to Dragonera Natural Park (from 59EUR) and a coastal Andratx snorkel route (from 49EUR) extend the programme to non-divers. The on-site dive shop stocks and rents 30+ complete equipment sets — Scubapro, Aqua Lung, Cressi, Apeks, and Suunto — with retail, repairs, and equipment service on site. On the environmental side, the centre runs an active beach clean-up programme. The operation is year-round, shifting to a Thursday-Sunday reduced schedule in winter.
What Divers Say
Divers consistently rate Diving Dragonera among the highest-rated centres in SW Mallorca, with scores across review platforms reflecting nearly four decades of operation. That longevity is itself a signal: a centre in one location since 1987 builds its reputation through local knowledge, repeat clientele, and staff continuity rather than marketing cycles. Verbatim review text was not available at time of research, but the pattern of consistently high ratings indicates solid delivery at the southwest tip of Mallorca. No negative themes emerged from available sources.
