About East Coast Divers Mallorca

East Coast Divers runs from the promenade at Hotel Bahia Azul on Porto Colom harbour — a waterfront position that places it at the centre of Mallorca's east-coast dive circuit. The operation has been active since at least 2011 and runs April through October, daily from 08:30.

As a PADI Dive Resort, the programme spans Bubblemaker sessions at 25 EUR for young beginners through Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, and Divemaster. Technical diving is a genuine part of the offer: trimix and rebreather training and support are available, which is not common on the east coast. The specialty list runs to eleven courses including Night, Wreck, Nitrox, and Underwater Photography. Daily boat trips from Porto Colom reach 20+ areas: reefs, sea caves, and wreck dives along the coast, with the closest sites only five minutes away.

On-site facilities include a training pool, a retail shop with Mares and SCUBABRO gear, and full or individual-item equipment rental. Instruction runs in English, German, and Spanish. Free hotel transfers operate from Porto Cristo and Cala Mondragó. Dive insurance, mandatory under Spanish law, is sold at the centre.

The Pirate Cave Snorkeling Adventure to Cala Varques sea cave runs independently of the scuba schedule and is open to non-divers.

What Divers Say

East Coast Divers is consistently highly rated across its review base. The Pirate Cave Snorkeling Adventure is the standout product, consistently among the highest-rated individual offerings on the east coast. Cave and wreck diving also draws strong praise, with reviewers noting the professionalism of the guides and the variety of sites accessible within short boat rides. Mixed groups of certified divers, first-timers, and non-divers are handled in the same visit, and reviewers describe this working well. Safety and equipment quality are consistent positive notes across the review record.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does East Coast Divers operate?
April through October, daily 08:30-20:00. Diving can be arranged outside the season on request. The centre is based at Hotel Bahia Azul on the Porto Colom harbour promenade, which is staffed in-season without advance booking for most activities.
Is technical diving available?
Yes. East Coast Divers offers trimix and rebreather training and support — unusual for an east-coast Mallorca operator of this size. Pricing is not published; contact the centre directly for course and dive options.
What is the Pirate Cave Adventure, and who can do it?
The Pirate Cave Adventure is a guided snorkeling trip to Cala Varques sea cave, suitable for non-divers, children, and anyone who wants a cave experience without scuba certification. It runs at 59-70 EUR and is the most-reviewed product the centre offers.
What dive sites are accessible from Porto Colom?
The centre runs daily trips to 20+ areas along the east coast, including reefs, sea caves, and a wreck. The nearest sites are five minutes by boat. Depths range from 8m in sheltered calas to 27m at the deepest wreck. None of these sites are currently listed in the online catalogue, but the programme is outlined on the centre's website.
Can non-divers come along on the boat?
Non-divers can join as passengers when the boat schedule allows, and the Pirate Cave Snorkeling Adventure is specifically designed for non-divers. Snorkeling excursions are also available at 29 EUR.
Are transfers available from local hotels?
Free hotel pick-up operates especially from Porto Cristo and Cala Mondragó. Contact the centre when booking to confirm your pick-up point. Portuguese and German speakers can also reach the team via the German-language phone number listed on the website.
