About Firusub

Divers meet at Sant Elm, on Mallorca's southwestern tip, to board a 6-metre semi-rigid bound for Sa Dragonera. The registered business address is Santa Maria del Camí — an inland town in central Mallorca that serves as equipment storage and maintenance base. All diving outings depart from the coast.

Firusub is Carles and Marga's operation: two instructors, one boat, small groups. Their website is direct about the format: "a close and uncrowded diving experience, with small groups, flexibility, and personalised attention on each outing." Sa Dragonera is the primary destination — an uninhabited island with a marine reserve perimeter where decades of protection have produced high densities of the species absent from unprotected coastal sections. El Toro reserve, further east along SW Mallorca, is the second core site.

Carles holds PADI Divemaster and SSI qualifications and is also a Mermaid Project instructor, offering freedive-style mermaid experiences alongside standard scuba. Marga holds dual PADI and SSI certifications. The full course range — from the SSI Discover Scuba introduction through Divemaster — is available in Spanish and English, with Polish-language scuba introductions also offered. Junior certifications (Junior OWD from age 10) are available. Firusub is a registered Observadores del Mar sentinel centre, contributing systematic marine observation data and participating in the ODM ocean-climate programme.

What Divers Say

Divers give Firusub consistently perfect scores across review platforms, across a modest volume. The centre's own website features testimonials from named divers: small group size, the experience at Sa Dragonera, and the guide-to-diver ratio are the consistent elements. One reviewer describes an outing to Cabrera with six divers and two guides as the format that made the difference against larger operations. These are testimonials on the centre's own pages, not independent platform reviews — they should be read as such. Combined with the Google aggregate, the pattern across the available evidence points to a small-group operation where the group size and level of personal attention are the primary differentiators from standard Mallorca dive centres.
