About Jump Cozumel
Jump Cozumel is a small boat operation based at Marina Fonatur, an SSI Instructor Training Center that builds every guided dive, night dive and snorkel trip around picking the site with divers once they are on the boat, instead of following a printed daily rotation. The centre states the pitch directly: customize your trip, choose your dive sites, avoid crowds.
Almendra leads the team as an SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer and PADI IDC Staff Instructor Trainer with more than 5,000 dives and 400 students taught. Andrés, a PADI Staff Instructor with cave-diving experience and his own 5,000-plus dives, and Jose Humberto "Yiyo", a certified snorkel guide and Rescue Diver, round out the team. Courses run through both SSI and PADI paths with separate pricing for each, from a two-dive Discover Scuba experience through Divemaster.
Guided boat dives cover single-tank, two-tank and night-dive formats, with the Marine Park fee already built into the price. Snorkel trips run as a shared Marine Park tour or a private charter, and a private sunset boat trip adds food and drinks with hotel pier pickup. A beachfront villa, Sol-Haa, rents through the same contact address as the diving. Jump Cozumel advertises more than ten years on the island and over twelve years teaching scuba, without naming a calendar founding date.
What divers say
Every review naming a staff member by name points to one person: Almendra. Independent Google texts describe her running a discover dive, certifying a family in Open Water, and pairing an Advanced Open Water course with Nitrox, matching the senior instructor-trainer role she holds. Two reviewers raise safety and attentiveness unprompted, one crediting her with setting a higher bar than other instructors they had dived with, the other describing being checked on throughout a dive. Two of the same five accounts say plainly they intend to keep diving with this centre and nowhere else on the island. The volume behind this is genuinely small, a combined 5.0 across 8 Google ratings and 32 TripAdvisor reviews, and none of the texts describe a complaint.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does Jump Cozumel decide which site to dive?▾
The guide and the divers choose it together once they are on the boat, on every guided-dive and snorkel product the centre sells, instead of following a fixed daily rotation.
Does Jump Cozumel teach SSI or PADI?▾
Both, priced separately for the same certification. Open Water runs 525 dollars through SSI or 660 through PADI, and Enriched Air runs 210 SSI against 295 PADI.
Is the Cozumel marine park fee included in the dive price?▾
Guided dives and both snorkel products already include it, folded into the quoted price and not billed separately.
How many divers go out on a Jump Cozumel boat?▾
One returning diver's account of about fifteen dives with 'her crew' points to a small, familiar operation, but that is one person's impression, not a stated capacity.
Can I book a private snorkel trip or sunset cruise with Jump Cozumel?▾
Yes. A private-boat snorkel tour covers the same four-reef Marine Park route as the shared trip, and a separate three-hour sunset boat trip adds food, drinks and hotel pier pickup. Both are quoted on request.
How long has Jump Cozumel been operating?▾
Jump Cozumel advertises more than ten years on the island and over twelve years teaching scuba: a relative claim, not a specific founding year.
What happens if I need medical help during a Jump Cozumel trip?▾
The centre publishes a direct emergency line on its own contact page: the general 911 number plus a named local clinic and doctor with a direct phone number.
