Lagos Divers

Lagos Divers runs as a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center from the town of Lagos, on the rockier western stretch of the Algarve coast. A five-person team split across skippering, dive guiding and instruction takes divers out daily by boat to Ponta da Piedade and the Ocean Revival wreck park, with a private, customisable trip reserved for Sundays that bundles in equipment, transport and refreshments.

Courses run the full PADI ladder, from Discover Scuba Diving through Advanced Open Water, Rescue and Divemaster, up to the Instructor Development Course the centre hosts twice a year, which folds in a free Nitrox instructor rating. Divemaster candidates choose between a 3-week course and a 3-month internship that adds boat-handling and compressor and equipment-maintenance training on top of the standard syllabus. Nuno Mendes, a PADI TecRec instructor and Master Instructor on the team, runs the technical diving side alongside the recreational programme.

Equipment maintenance and sales round out the operation from the same Lagos base, alongside the boats and the courses.

Positive accounts repeatedly single out Andreia, in the office and skipper role, and Mel, for booking coordination, and one detailed account of a specific trip names the dive guide and skipper by name, matching them exactly to the roles on the team list, Guilherme Araújo guiding and Nuno Mendes skippering, independent confirmation that the roster reflects who is actually running the boat.
