About
WeDive Lagos runs daily boat dives out of Marina de Lagos, working a site list that ranges from an 8 metre training and snorkelling bay to the 28-33 metre wrecks of the Ocean Revival Marine Park. In between sit rock walls, canyons and a cave dive around Ponta da Piedade, along with an archaeological site where anchors lost by ships between the 17th and 19th centuries are still lodged in the rock.
The centre holds SSI Instructor Training Center status, SSI Extended Range Center recognition, and TDI and PADI dive center affiliations, plus DAN Europe membership. Course options run from a first try dive through the full SSI professional ladder, and extend into extended range, rebreather and TDI technical programs alongside a marine ecology track and a youth Scuba Rangers introduction.
The team is a multicultural group of instructors and skippers, including SSI Instructor Trainer Nuno Oliveira, TDI and DAN instructor trainer João Pedro Freire, and SSI instructor Delfina Meyer, alongside divemasters, skippers and an underwater photographer. Booking runs through an online system embedded on the centre's own site.
What divers say
Safety comes up before almost anything else: divers describe full briefings and clear no-decompression-limit planning ahead of the deeper Ocean Revival dives, not a rushed dockside rundown. Cold-water kit adequacy gets called out too, with divers describing the wetsuits issued as more than enough for a full Atlantic dive day. One first-time diver was matched with a beginner-friendly Ponta da Piedade route and came back recommending the centre by name; on the technical side, WeDive is named directly by divers online as the operator to ask for around Lagos when rebreather diving is the plan, pointing to two of its senior instructors. Staff mentioned across accounts written years apart read as a stable core team, not a shop with high turnover. Critical reviews are rare: almost every review sits at the top of the scale, with only a small handful marked down and none at the bottom.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a trip to the Ocean Revival Marine Park with WeDive Lagos involve?▾
The park's four sunken Portuguese Navy vessels sit between 28 and 33 metres, deep enough that reaching every one of them calls for more than a first Open Water certification. WeDive's shallower Ponta da Piedade routes, some from 5 metres, suit less experienced divers on the same trip roster.
Is WeDive Lagos a good choice for rebreather or technical diving?▾
Yes: it holds SSI Extended Range Center and Instructor Training Center status, runs SSI rebreather and TDI technical programs, and divers active in the sport name it as the operator to contact in Lagos, pointing to two of its senior instructors by name.
Can a first-time diver try scuba diving with WeDive Lagos?▾
Yes. The centre runs try-dive sessions, and one first-hand account describes being steered toward a beginner-friendly route at Ponta da Piedade and coming away recommending the operator afterward.
What wetsuit do I need to dive with WeDive Lagos?▾
Reviewers put Algarve water at around 15 to 18 degrees C in June and around 16 degrees C in April, and recommend a 7mm suit as the minimum; one described being issued a 7mm suit with an added vest and finding it more than enough.
Are prices for courses and dives listed anywhere?▾
Not as a published list. Course, trip and equipment prices run through the centre's own online booking widget, where a quote is generated when you book, not shown as a price sheet.
What else does WeDive Lagos dive besides the Ocean Revival wrecks?▾
Its day-to-day site list runs to rock walls, canyons and a cave dive around Ponta da Piedade, plus an archaeological site where anchors lost by ships between the 17th and 19th centuries are still lodged in the rock.
