About

A five-to-one instructor-to-diver ratio is the number Scuba Diver Javea leads with, and the choice of certification agency backs it up. This is an SNSI centre, a smaller international system built on the same ISO 24801/24802 diver-training standard as PADI, SSI, and CMAS. Volker Schreiber, an SNSI instructor with a marine-conservation background, directs the centre from its base at the end of the Javea channel marina. Eduardo "Edu" Ortiz, a volunteer guide with deep local knowledge of the coastline, and Mabel Menapace, who learned to dive in Ushuaia before joining the team, round out the guiding side. Roman Jean Duetsch, a Swiss PADI instructor, handles the website and teaches alongside the group.

Three boats leave daily, at 08:30, noon, and 16:00, reaching twelve named dive points split across four zones. That range runs from the sheltered north coast down to the Cabo San Antonio marine reserve, where a dedicated two-tank package needs advance police authorisation and a minimum of four divers. Equipment rental, dive insurance through DAN Europe, and snorkelling trips fill out the rest of the offer. The team works in German, Spanish, English, and French.

What Divers Say

Reviews consistently praise one instructor for a patient, calm, safety-first style that adapts to first-timers and returning certified divers alike. One parent recounts a nervous first dive turning reassuring under that same steady guidance. The volunteer guide's local knowledge draws its own repeat mentions. One returning diver, two years into diving with the centre, credits personal attention from both instructors, points to a recently added boat and gear, and notes trips continuing into the off-season, dolphins included on one crossing. Free on-site parking earns a specific mention as a relief next to Javea's busier summer marinas.

Frequently Asked Questions

What certification agency does Scuba Diver Javea teach under?
SNSI, an international training system built around the same ISO 24801/24802 diver-training standard as PADI, SSI, and CMAS. Courses run from a first Experience Scuba dive through Divemaster, and certification is issued as a digital C-card and logbook through the SNSI app.
Can I dive inside the Cabo San Antonio marine reserve with this centre?
Yes. A dedicated two-tank package reaches two points inside the reserve: Faro de Sant Antoni and Primera Ensenada. Booking it needs police authorisation arranged in advance and a minimum of four divers together.
How big are the dive groups?
The centre advertises a five-to-one diver-to-instructor ratio, tighter than many boat operations along this stretch of coast.
What time do the boats leave?
Three fixed departures run daily at 08:30, noon, and 16:00. Last-minute bookings inside 24 hours go through WhatsApp rather than the standard online system.
Is equipment rental available?
Yes, from a single day up to a week, including weight-integrated BCDs and dive computers. Dive insurance through DAN Europe can also be arranged directly at the centre.
Is parking available near the dive centre?
Free parking is available on-site, which reviewers note as a genuine advantage given how tight parking gets around Javea's marinas in summer.
