Buddies Dive Cove

Buddies Dive Cove runs from Bugibba on Malta's north coast, one of several PADI-affiliated operators serving the Cirkewwa wreck-diving hub and the wider Malta, Gozo and Comino circuit. It holds PADI 5 Star Career Development Centre status alongside a PADI TecRec Centre designation, putting recreational and technical training under one roof.

Day to day, groups meet for two-dive morning trips or single dives morning and afternoon, open to divers certified with any training agency. Most diving is shore-based, supplemented by regular boat trips to Comino and Gozo. Guided diving covers Cirkewwa, Anchor Bay, Ghar Lapsi, Um El Faroud and HMS Maori as home-base sites, with the centre framing its range as covering both the well-known dives and the quieter ones many visitors miss.

The course ladder runs from Discover Scuba Diving through the full PADI Professional track, plus the complete PADI TecRec technical programme up to Trimix 65. Package pricing includes a certified guide, cylinder rental and land transport to the dive site, and guests staying nearby get free pick-up and drop-off on two-dive days.

Two independent rating channels land in the same place: a high volume of reviews on both platforms, heavily concentrated in the top rating band, with fresh activity extending into late 2025. Recurring themes include named-instructor praise across a long list of guides, small-class personal attention, and safety-conscious adjustments to dive plans when conditions or a diver's experience level call for it.

Reviewers also flag free hotel transport as a genuine convenience rather than a marketing line, and several recall a full week's holiday where site choice shifted around bad weather without disrupting the trip. A small share of lower-rated reviews exists but represents a fraction of a percent of the overall total.
