About

Diving Atlantis started in 2013 on the rocky coast near Los Gigantes, then moved to Los Cristianos in 2017 once the sandy beach there made shore access far more practical for daily teaching. The house reef sits directly off Paseo Marítimo: a layered lava structure with holes and small caves that the centre runs as a serious dive in its own right, not just a warm-up spot, with rays, octopuses, and seastars regularly reported and angel sharks turning up on occasion. Courses stay within a small group and the site gets picked together with the diver, based on how they're feeling and what they've done before. Beyond the core course ladder, the centre runs its own kayak tours out to watch dolphins and turtles, launched from the same beach as the diving. Six languages are covered across the instructor team, English, Spanish, German, French, Russian, and Polish, which suits a centre this close to several nationalities of package tourism. Trips further afield reach sites across the island, from Abades in the southeast to Barranco Seco near Los Gigantes.

What Divers Say

Feedback consistently highlights instructor patience with nervous or completely new divers, with several accounts describing a try dive that turned a first-time jitter into genuine enthusiasm. Named instructors recur across reviews, a sign of a stable team rather than high turnover, and more than one reviewer mentions seeing seahorses on a shore dive alongside the usual reef life. Rental gear comes up as tidier than expected, and one reviewer flagged the convenience of not having to rinse equipment afterwards. Nothing resembling a safety or reliability complaint surfaced across the reviews checked.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does Diving Atlantis dive from?
Its base is on Paseo Marítimo in Los Cristianos, right on the sandy beach, with a house reef of layered lava rock directly in front of the shop. It also runs boat and shore trips further around the island.
Is Diving Atlantis a good choice for a first dive?
Yes. Try dives run in both 20 and 40 minute formats, from shore or by boat, and the centre chooses the dive site together with each diver based on experience level.
What will I see on the house reef in Los Cristianos?
The reef in front of the shop is described as a layered lava structure with holes and small caves, home to rays, octopuses, seastars, and occasional angel sharks.
Does Diving Atlantis offer more than diving?
Yes. Alongside courses and fun dives it runs kayak tours for dolphin and turtle watching, plus snorkelling trips, useful for mixed groups where not everyone dives.
How far does Diving Atlantis travel for dives?
Trips run across the island, with a dedicated sites page covering spots as far as Abades in the southeast and Barranco Seco near Los Gigantes in the northwest.
Is hotel pickup included?
Pickup is free across the south, from Puerto Santiago to El Médano. A paid pickup or bus option is arranged for guests staying near Puerto de la Cruz.
What languages are spoken at Diving Atlantis?
Instructors cover English, Spanish, German, French, Russian, and Polish, a wider spread than most centres on this stretch of coast.
