About
The first view most visitors get of Formentera is the ferry terminal at La Savina — and Formentera Divers is waiting there. The centre occupies Carrer de s'Almadrava, 7, on the marina edge of the port, in a 120m2 facility that includes a dive shop, theory classrooms, changing rooms, and an equipment preparation area. Opened in 2018, it holds SSI Instructor Training Center accreditation: the ITC designation means courses are available from first-time experiences all the way through to instructor-level certification from a single location.
The dive programme covers the full range: guided boat dives for certified divers, Discover Scuba sessions departing at 9:30 and 16:00 (each approximately 2.5 hours, with 15-20 minutes underwater), SSI Open Water Diver and Advanced courses, specialty programmes including Nitrox and Ecology Diver, and Extended Range technical diving. Adapted diving for divers with disabilities is listed as a service. The 12-person dive boat is based in La Savina marina; snorkelling excursions by boat (three hours, approximately 11:30 departure) run alongside the standard dive schedule. The centre is open all year, with reduced Sunday hours of 9:00-14:00.
What Divers Say
The centre is consistently top-rated in La Savina. Divers describe outstanding marine life — fish, vegetation, and rock formations — alongside seamless organisation and multilingual communication. La Plataforma, an artificial reef at 32m, is singled out repeatedly as "a magnificent dive." The Don Pedro wreck, at 147 metres long in the Es Freus channel between Ibiza and Formentera, is mentioned in reviews as an advanced option for experienced divers. Equipment quality and a family-friendly atmosphere carry across reviews in multiple languages.
