Isurus Sub

Not all Mallorca dive operations shut down in October. Isurus Sub — full brand name ISURUS esport i aventura — runs from a year-round shop in Palma's Ponent neighbourhood, six days a week with no midday closure. The operation spans an SSI and PADI dive school, a filling station with two compressors (up to 300 bar, with urgent air service), an authorised repair workshop, and what the centre describes as the largest adventure-sports retail floor in Mallorca.

The centre holds SSI Instructor Training Center status — the highest tier in the SSI system — alongside PADI accreditation. Its most distinctive offering: a collaboration with Palma Aquarium that allows certified divers to enter the Gran Azul tank with qualified guides. Gran Azul is described as the deepest aquarium in Europe, housing more than 200 species including 20 sharks from four species. Boat dives operate separately, with the Isurus VI based at Port Adriano and running to the Marine Reserves of Illa del Toro and Illes Malgrats on the SW coast. Courses cover the full SSI and PADI recreational and technical range, including 20+ SSI specialties from Nitrox and Sidemount to Ecology and Mermaid.

The Club de Buceo y Aventura Isurus extends beyond the dive school with shore dives, Posidonia monitoring, coastal clean-ups, photography contests, and social events across the calendar year. The shop carries 50+ brands including Aqualung, Apeks, Cressi, Mares, Scubapro, and Suunto.

Isurus Sub is consistently highly rated — a substantial review base for a city-centre dive shop. Direct community voice is limited, but YouTube footage from 2020 through 2024 shows organised, well-briefed boat trips at Isla del Toro. The SSI ITC designation, the year-round shop model, and a gear range uncommon outside major city retailers draw a clientele looking for a full-service centre rather than a resort-season package. The Club de Buceo's mix of monitoring, photography, and social events reflects an active local member community that extends well beyond the summer tourist circuit.
