About
Megadive holds SSI's top affiliation tier, Diamond Center, and runs its diving programme from Sesimbra's harbour. Training covers the full SSI ladder, from Scuba, Snorkel Diver and Swim through Freediving and Extended Range technical diving, taught by certified instructors and pitched from a beginner's first dive through to advanced programmes for experienced divers. Gas fills run to air, nitrox, oxygen and trimix, and the rental fleet covers BCDs, drysuits, neoprene suits, regulators and cylinders.
Boat trips run within the Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park to River Gurara, Jardim das Gorgónias, Pedra do Leão, Ponta da Passagem, Batelão and Baía da Armação, with Pedra da Mula named among the further sites the centre services. Entry-level programmes are capped at SSI's own depths and minimum ages for each level: Try Dive to about 6 m from age eight, Scuba Diver to 12 m, and Open Water Diver to 18 m from age ten. A separate wreck-diving product for Advanced-certified divers runs to the low thirties of metres.
Alongside the diving, Megadive runs a separately marketed dolphin-watching and boat-tour product from the same harbour, about three hours out toward Cabo Espichel and the Sado Estuary, where a resident bottlenose dolphin community lives year-round, with the occasional whale or orca passing further offshore.

Is the dolphin-watching trip run by Megadive itself, or a separate business?▾
It is Megadive's own product, marketed and booked separately from the diving trips but run by the same operator from Porto de Abrigo. The roughly three-hour trip heads toward Cabo Espichel and the Sado Estuary, where a resident bottlenose dolphin group is based, with an onboard guide describing the animals and the coastline along the way.
Are dolphin sightings guaranteed on the boat tour?▾
No trip guarantees a sighting, and Megadive's own materials for the tour say as much. The dolphin community based between Cabo Espichel and the Sado Estuary is resident, not migratory, which keeps the odds good, and whale or orca sightings further offshore happen occasionally but are not part of the standard trip.
What depth do the entry-level Try Dive and Open Water courses reach?▾
Try Dive sessions, open from age eight, stay to about 6 m; the entry-level Scuba Diver certification reaches 12 m; and Open Water Diver, open from age ten, reaches 18 m. Each figure sits at or under SSI's own published limit for that level.

Yes for the deeper option. Megadive's wreck-diving product reaches the low thirties of metres, within Advanced Open Water's recreational depth range, so it is sold to divers who already hold that certification, not as an entry-level dive.
What are Megadive's weekend opening hours?▾
Weekday hours agree across listings: 09:00 to 18:00 Monday and Wednesday to Friday, closed Tuesday. Saturday and Sunday are recorded differently depending on the listing, from 09:00-18:00 in one to 08:00-19:00 in another, so it is worth confirming the exact weekend window directly with the centre before a visit.
