Cap de Creus Dive
PADI 5-Star center in El Port de la Selva with brand-new Aqualung gear, max 4 divers per guide, and year-round boat diving in Cap de Creus Natural Park.
Also known as: Cala Taballera
A Cap de Creus cove named on the shared Port de la Selva dive roster, set apart by a new, park-run, free mooring-buoy field with its own summer boat cap.
Last updated September 2026
Cala Taballera is getting a mooring-buoy field of its own, run directly by the Cap de Creus park authority and free of charge. The park's three existing recreational fields elsewhere in the reserve, at Montjoi, La Pelosa and Jóncols, are fee-bearing and run by the local town hall; Taballera's will be neither. It is the one point on this stretch of Mar d'Amunt coast with a regulation written specifically in its name.
Taballera sits on Cap de Creus's Mar d'Amunt shore, a cove placed on the park's own 2025 map between the Tres Frares and Galladera cluster to the west and Cala Galladera to the east. CIPS Dive and Cap de Creus Dive, the two Port de la Selva centres that share this coast's dive roster, list it as pin eight.
Anyone mooring a boat at Cala Taballera in July or August works within a two-vessel cap, one of the two under seven metres. Outside the buoy field, free anchoring anywhere on this coast is limited to two consecutive nights, the same park-wide rule that applies here as everywhere else. Depth, conditions and the best season for this specific point are not documented; confirm all three with the centre running the dive before booking. Cala Taballera is also a known beach, reached on foot from El Port de la Selva, but that overland route is not a documented way into the water.

Dive centres in Catalonia must require insurance from every diver on their dives, and must be able to offer a policy to anyone who has none.
It is a general boating rule, not a diving-specific allocation. The park's own diving-preferred buoys are a separate category, and none of them is assigned to Taballera specifically. The two-vessel July-August cap and the two-night overnight limit apply to any boat that moors or anchors here, a dive charter included.
No, and the two should not be merged. A third operator, Diving Center Colera, names a similarly spelled 'Cala Talabre' next to its own site near Golfet and Cap Gros, at the western end of this shore. The park's own map puts Cala Taballera much further east, near the Tres Frares and Galladera cluster. The names are close, but nothing ties the two places together beyond the resemblance.
