About
Azores Sub Dive Center runs from the Marina de Vila Franca do Campo, on Sao Miguel's south coast, one of only two Sao Miguel operators based in this harbour town instead of the capital, Ponta Delgada. SSI grades the school a Diamond Center, its top facility tier, and it is further affiliated with PADI, CMAS and Portuguese national federations, running the full recreational ladder from a pool or sea baptism through Divemaster, plus a slate of specialties that includes a Deep Diver course certifying to the standard 40 metre agency ceiling, not beyond it.
The product centres on boat and RIB dives to a fixed rotation of small south-coast sites, plus the Ilheu de Vila Franca do Campo, the protected islet immediately offshore its own marina base. The islet sits inside a government-classified habitat reserve, and its visitor season is numerically capped each June to September under regional ordinance, a cap on numbers, not a diving permit or fee.
