About Brothers Diving

Three instructors from three countries opened Brothers Diving in San Agustín in June 2022. Myles left a finance career in Britain to train as an instructor; Mario traded cinema management in Spain for a requalification in Australia; Alessandra has dived since 2015, working in Malta and Southeast Asia before joining the industry full time in 2019. Between them they count more than 20 years of combined diving and teaching.

A typical day runs on two tanks. Divers meet at 8:00 AM, either at the center or via hotel pickup anywhere from Maspalomas to Puerto Rico, then head out for a first dive around 9:30 followed by a snack break and a second dive before lunch. Groups stay small, 4 to 6 divers per guide. Through summer the center keeps a fixed weekly rhythm: one boat day south to Pasito Blanco and the artificial reef, one trip north to Sardina del Norte. Try dives and early PADI training use the house shore site at Playa de Amadores, five minutes away.

Brothers Diving holds SSI Diamond Center status and also teaches PADI, running the SSI course line from Try Scuba through Divemaster. Seven languages cover the team, which suits the international spread of guests staying along this part of the coast.

What Divers Say

TripAdvisor gives Brothers Diving a perfect 5.0 across 48 reviews, all rated Excellent. Reviewers name Mario and David specifically, praising patience and clear briefings, and several call out the rental gear: a dive computer comes included, which reviewers describe as unusual among nearby centers. The small-group pace draws repeat mention too, with divers describing an unhurried, well-organised day rather than a high-volume operation. Spanish-language reviews echo the same points, adding that the equipment is well maintained and that guests felt safe throughout.

As a young center, opened in 2022, the review history runs shorter than some Arinaga-area neighbors. The signal across both TripAdvisor and Google has stayed consistently positive regardless.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a typical dive day with Brothers Diving look like?
Meet at the center or your hotel around 8:00 AM, then a gear check before the first dive around 9:30. A surface interval with a snack follows, then a second dive before returning to base by early afternoon. Guides keep groups to 4-6 divers, and the pace is deliberately unhurried rather than run for volume.
Does Brothers Diving include a dive computer with rental gear?
Yes. Rental sets come with a dive computer, which several reviewers flag as unusual locally since carrying one is mandatory under Spanish diving rules. Divers who show up without their own gear are covered without an extra rental line for it.
What sites does Brothers Diving dive?
El Cabrón is the house site, reached from the shore point known locally as Risco Verde. The center also runs a weekly summer rotation: a south boat day covering Pasito Blanco and an artificial reef, and a north trip to Sardina del Norte. Deep-certified divers can add the Las Palmas wrecks or La Catedral, which bottoms at 40 meters.
Is Brothers Diving suitable for someone who has never dived before?
Yes. The Try Scuba program runs as a single dive or a same-day two-dive pack, and a VIP version pairs a first-timer with a dedicated instructor. The house shore dive at Playa de Amadores, five minutes from the center, is used specifically for try-dives and early training.
How many languages does the Brothers Diving team speak?
Seven between the three owner-instructors and their team: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch. That range matters on a coast with a heavily international mix of visiting divers.
Does Brothers Diving pick up from hotels?
Yes, free of charge, across San Agustín, Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés, Costa Meloneras, Bahía Feliz, Pasito Blanco, Arguineguín, and Patalavaca. Boat dives can also be arranged in advance rather than run as a fixed daily departure.
