Cresta Dive Centre

Cresta Dive Centre is run by two people who have known each other more than 33 years: Ray Casey, known locally as KC, diving in Malta since 1989, and Charlotte Fenech, Charlie, who arrived from Kent and became a PADI Staff Instructor in 1992. The pair have owned and run the centre together for the last 18 years, based at Cresta Quay on St Julian's seafront. The centre says it has taken more than 8,000 courses through to certification over that time.

Cresta's own site also names a further wreck, the Bristol Beaufighter at 38 metres, a distinct wreck from Malta's Blenheim Bomber. Trips run north to Cirkewwa and south to the Blue Grotto at Wied iz-Zurrieq and Ghar Lapsi, with the wreck circuit continuing through HMS Maori, Rozi, P29, Tug 2 and Um El Faroud. Cresta runs PADI courses from Discover Scuba through Divemaster and specialty diving, but keeps to recreational depths: no technical or decompression diving is offered here. Free pickup covers St Julian's, Sliema, Gzira, Swieqi and Pembroke, and a private instructor is available for parties of two or more at no extra charge.

Door-to-door logistics stand out in recent reviews: hotel pickup, a stop to kit up, and drop-off again afterward, with gear already cleaned and ready to use. Small groups come up often too, with one reviewer citing three or four divers per trip, and another describing a multi-dive stay that varied its route from day to day. Casey and Charlie are both named directly and repeatedly across accounts, credited with keeping divers comfortable and safe throughout and with keeping a close eye on everyone in the group. One reviewer returned to dive with Cresta twelve years after first training there.
