Poseidon Roses Diving Center

Three generations of one family have run this centre since 1972, when Bernd Mörker opened it on Roses' Santa Margarida seafront as the Poseidon Nemrod Club, one of the founding members of Spain's first association of diving centres. In 1979 Bernd and Bárbara Mörker relaunched it as Centro de Buceo Poseidon S.L., and the business has stayed in the family since: their children Boris and Bastian took over the day-to-day running, and today Boris's own sons, Marc and Joel, are the names divers meet at the boat.

The centre runs boat dives and the full SSI course ladder, from a supervised baptism dive (open from age 12 with a guardian's authorisation) through Open Water, Advance Adventure, Rescue and Dive Guide, plus specialties in deep, night, wreck, dry suit and underwater photography diving. Its own boat, the Poseidon, works more than 20 sites across the Cap de Creus Natural Park and the Cap Norfeu partial reserve. The centre credits founder Bernd Mörker, working alongside a local fisherman-diver, with mapping out most of those sites in the park's early diving years, an account that comes from the centre's own history and is not independently confirmed. Beyond its SSI base, the team also holds CMAS, VDST and FECDAS affiliations, and teaches in Spanish, Catalan, German, French, English and Italian. The team also describes more than 40 years of combined instructor experience and over 21,500 dives across the three generations, figures the centre reports about itself and no outside record confirms.

Two independent review platforms converge on the same two threads for Poseidon Roses. The stronger one is personal attention: reviewers repeatedly name Boris, Marc and Joel individually, crediting them for patience with nervous or first-time divers and for treating the group like family, not a number in a queue.

A second, smaller thread turns up on both platforms too: a handful of reviewers describe an off day, one an unwelcoming arrival with poor communication, another an uninterested guide and a worn regulator mouthpiece, with smoking on board among the same complaints.
