Honors Legacy

Honors Legacy is a 33.5-metre Maldivian-built wooden liveaboard that runs Honors Holidays' central and seasonal Deep South weeks out of Male. Ten ensuite cabins, including two ocean-view suites, sit on a hull built around variety rather than a single signature route. The Best of Maldives week works the central atolls year-round, pairing manta cleaning stations at Rangali Madivaru with channel thilas such as Maaya Thila, Kudarah Thila and the Alimatha kandu. The Hanifaru & Ari route times its run to the May-to-December whale-shark and manta season, adding Baa's Nelivaru and Dhigali reefs, the Fesdu wreck and a snorkel excursion at Hanifaru Bay, which is a snorkel-only site, not a dive. When the northeast monsoon settles in, roughly December to April, the Southern Atolls and Deep South Huvadhoo-Addu safaris push down toward the equator through Huvadhoo, Fuvahmulah and Addu, staged to or from Kooddoo or Gan. Diving runs from a dedicated 60-foot dhoni with its own compressors, which keeps a three-dives-a-day rhythm moving. Nitrox is available on board, but it is payable and best pre-booked rather than included. Who does it suit? The central weeks suit intermediate divers comfortable on channel and thila dives, while the far-south equatorial routes assume experience in drift and current. Maldives green-tax and marine-park charges are government fees collected by the operator.
