Sleek, silver torpedoes that patrol the blue in mesmerising formations. Schools of juveniles are common on Mediterranean and tropical reefs; solitary great barracudas may shadow you out of curiosity rather than aggression.

Recognize it by its sleek, silver torpedo shape and prominent underbite. Mediterranean barracuda are smaller than their tropical cousins but equally impressive in large schools.

Often seen in impressive curtain-like schools near drop-offs, sometimes solitary adults patrol reef edges.
