Itineraries (5)

Best of Maldives runs all year from Male. Sharktastic (Jan-Apr) and Deep South (Dec-Mar) are seasonal charters; the northern manta weeks, Northern Highlights and Hanifaru & North, run roughly July to October. Emperor rotates one shared catalog across the fleet, so a given week can be visited on this hull's rotation rather than by fixed departure.

About

Emperor Serenity is Emperor Divers' 40-metre Maldives flagship, a fiberglass hull with 13 ensuite cabins, four of them suites, for 26 guests. It works off a dedicated dive dhoni with a team of guides, and its home water is the whole archipelago. The year-round Best of Maldives week runs from Male and threads together Ari mantas and whale sharks, the Vaavu channels and a nurse-shark night dive. When the seasons turn, the fleet's charters open up: Sharktastic around January to April, the northern manta weeks (Northern Highlights and Hanifaru & North) roughly July to October, and the advanced Deep South charter from December to March, staged through Gan and Kooddoo in the far south. Free nitrox to 32 percent is included. Who does it suit? Best of Maldives fits improvers who are comfortable in current, while the shark and Deep South charters assume logged-dive minimums, an Advanced qualification and drift competence. On the northern weeks, Hanifaru Bay is a snorkel-only excursion, not a dive. A dive computer, SMB and reef hook are mandatory on Maldivian channels. Fares are genuinely all-inclusive: green tax, port fees and airport transfers are folded into the price rather than added at the marina.

What Divers Say

Divers pick Serenity when they want the fleet's most comfortable Maldives hull without stepping up to a charter-only tech boat. The recurring themes are space and finish: suites with real windows, a roomy dive deck worked off a dedicated dhoni, and a crew described as attentive and well-drilled on channel timing and manta cleaning stations. The genuinely all-inclusive pricing, with green tax, transfers and free nitrox folded in, comes up repeatedly as no-surprises value. Food and hospitality earn steady warm mentions. The consistent caveat is Maldivian diving itself: strong channel currents mean a dive computer, SMB and reef hook are mandatory, and the shark and Deep South charters expect logged-dive minimums and drift competence rather than a first-timer's logbook.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which week suits a first Maldives liveaboard?
Best of Maldives is the all-round intro, running all year from Male: Ari mantas and whale sharks, Vaavu channels and a nurse-shark night dive. It is still current-exposed, so bring your reef hook.
Is nitrox really free?
Yes, free to 32 percent from the onboard membrane system. Bring your nitrox certification card.
Do I dive Hanifaru Bay?
No. Hanifaru Bay is a UNESCO snorkel-only excursion on the northern weeks. You snorkel with the mantas; scuba is not permitted.
Can I see whale sharks?
South Ari holds whale sharks year-round on the Best of Maldives and Sharktastic weeks, though sightings are never guaranteed.
Can I dive on a rebreather or mixed gas?
No. Emperor Serenity is a recreational nitrox operation, with no technical or rebreather diving.
What experience do the charters need?
Best of Maldives suits improvers who are comfortable with channel currents. The Sharktastic and Deep South charters expect logged-dive minimums and an Advanced qualification, plus drift competence. A dive computer, SMB and reef hook are mandatory on Maldivian channels.
