About Easy Diving

Easy Diving is a port-based dive club and SSI training center in the marina of Mataró, about 30 km up the coast from Barcelona on the Costa del Maresme. It works the offshore rocky ridges that local divers call the barras, plus a scatter of small wrecks on the sand. The default product is a boat dive with a club guide assigned to the group, run year-round in Mediterranean water.

The club's stated mission is to make diving accessible to everyone. Its instructors carry more than 25 years of diving experience and are trained to teach divers with motor and intellectual disabilities, and the center takes students from age 12 up to elderly divers. Training runs under both FECDAS/CMAS and SSI standards, and you can cross-certify between the two systems. That reach extends in the other direction too. Beyond the recreational ladder, Easy Diving supports technical progression through SSI Extended Range, sidemount, twinset and decompression diving, with technical rental gear on hand.

The center is also an authorized technical service for Mares, Aqualung and Cressi, and rents a full kit range from light sets to dry suits and twinsets. It frames itself as a club and community rather than a high-volume resort shop. The published site list runs to dozens of named local points, evidence of how thoroughly it works this stretch of coast.

What Divers Say

Public review feedback for Easy Diving is positive but thin. The center holds a 5.0 rating across a small number of Google reviews, with no negative signal surfacing in the public record. There is not yet enough written feedback to identify the recurring themes divers tend to single out, such as instruction quality or boat logistics, so the picture is best read as a strong direction on low volume.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does Easy Diving go diving?
Boat dives work the offshore rocky ridges (barras) and wrecks off Mataró and the neighbouring Maresme coast. The center publishes a long list of named local sites, from shallow training reefs around 8-12 metres through the signature barras at 18-26 metres to deep wrecks and reefs beyond 35 metres for advanced and decompression divers.
Do I need a car, or can I reach Easy Diving by train?
Mataró sits on the Rodalies Renfe R1 line and is roughly 30 minutes from central Barcelona. The center is in the Port of Mataró, so you can arrive by train and reach the marina without a car.
Does Easy Diving teach divers with disabilities?
Yes. The center runs an adaptive diving program and its instructors are trained to teach divers with motor and intellectual disabilities. It also offers a dedicated FECDAS/CMAS adaptive diving certification.
Can I do technical diving courses here?
Yes. Easy Diving supports SSI Extended Range, sidemount, twinset and decompression diving, with technical rental gear available. It runs the full recreational ladder under both SSI and FECDAS/CMAS, and you can cross-certify between the two systems.
What does a guided boat dive cost?
A boat dive with tank starts at 35 EUR, rising to 49 EUR with heavy gear and 61 EUR with full equipment. A night dive is 38 EUR, and multi-dive packs bring the per-dive price down. Confirm current rates with the center.
What certification systems can I train under?
Both SSI and FECDAS/CMAS. The center is SSI-affiliated for recreational and Extended Range tracks and runs as a FECDAS-affiliated CMAS club, with the option to cross-certify between the two.
