About

Thirty metres from the Tamariu boat jetty, Stollis Divebase occupies a spot on the village promenade that puts divers in the water faster than almost anywhere on the Costa Brava. The house reef is a two-minute walk. The boat, a sailing vessel called Gabriela, carries 15 divers to 12 further sites between 7 and 25 minutes away.

The center has been running since 1971, which makes it one of the longest-operating dive bases on this coast. Anja and Stefan Felz took over management in 2022, continuing the family-run format that defines the operation. The team works in four languages, with a loyal German-speaking community among its regular visitors.

Training runs through three certification systems: IAC (CMAS), SSI, and PADI, from introduction dives up to instructor level. Children can start from age 8 with IAC-certified instructors. Specialties include navigation, deep diving, underwater photography, and night diving. Maria, a staff photographer, leads underwater photography sessions on the house reef and boat sites.

The Non-Limit Diving package is built for week-long stays. One boat dive daily, unlimited house reef access. For divers who want to log five or six dives a day without watching the bill climb, this is the draw.

What Divers Say

The house reef seahorses are the most frequent topic in reviews. Divers travel to Tamariu specifically to see them, and guides like Maria are praised for locating them reliably during 90-minute shore dives. Reviewers describe the atmosphere as "German efficiency with a Spanish touch," and returning guests are common.

Families feature heavily in the feedback. Parents highlight the children's programs, and multiple reviews describe putting entire families through try dives or junior certifications over a few days. One reviewer with a physical disability reported receiving good assistance from the team. Staff members are named repeatedly across reviews, with Amelie, Peter, Fabian, Tom, and Tiffany all drawing specific praise for patient, professional guidance.
