About
Diving Portlligat has run from inside the Carpe Diem Cadaqués complex since 2008, when its founders, who describe themselves simply as diving enthusiasts, opened the centre on the southern flank of the Cap de Creus peninsula. The dive boats moor in Portlligat bay, in front of Salvador Dalí's house, and the complex's own apartments sit about 80 metres from the centre for anyone staying on site.
Three boat departures run daily to different points inside Cap de Creus Natural Park, and trips go out from as little as one diver, with no group minimum stated.
Courses run under both SSI and PADI, per the centre's own listing, from a Scuba Diver certification limited to 12 metres, instructor-supervised, through Open Water Diver at 18 metres, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and on to Divemaster and instructor levels, alongside a long specialty list running from Nitrox to underwater photography and marine biology.
The fleet is three Valiant 7.5 semi-rigid inflatables, and the site roster covers 15 named Cap de Creus points, including Cala Culip and Massa d'Or. Rental gear and the on-site shop both run on a single brand, MARES, throughout.
What divers say
Repeat visits run through the praise: one 2026 reviewer writes that they've been coming back for several years and thanks the team by name. Nuria draws specific praise for her teaching, one account crediting her dynamism, tone and good humor leading three members of a group through a week of training. Rental gear and the team's friendliness draw steady mentions elsewhere.
Not every account agrees. A 2024 review describes a double-dive trip that had to return to shore between dives for tanks, put mixed-certification divers together with little to see, and found the wetsuits old, with patched holes.
