Itineraries (7)

Northern wreck and Strait of Tiran routes run year-round from Hurghada. The offshore Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone and Deep South marine-park weeks run roughly March to November and are weather-dependent. Steel is marketed with a southern Red Sea emphasis.

About

The Seawolf Steel is a 48-metre liveaboard and the largest hull in Seawolf Diving Safari's fleet. Built in 2022, it is one of the few all-steel liveaboards working the Egyptian Red Sea, a construction that divers associate with better sea-keeping on long offshore crossings. Fifteen ensuite cabins sleep up to 30 guests, with three upper-deck king suites at the top of the layout. The Steel runs the same route catalog as its teak sister, the Seawolf Dominator, but its marketing leans south. Expect Daedalus, Zabargad, Rocky Island and the St John's reefs alongside the northern wreck and Tiran weeks that all Seawolf hulls share. Nitrox comes from an onboard compressor. Site lists rotate with the season and the weather rather than being fixed to a single departure. Northern reef-and-wreck weeks suit intermediate divers; the offshore and Deep South weeks assume current experience. Government park and reef fees are collected by the operator, separate from the trip fare.

What Divers Say

Steel is positioned as the newer, larger sister. It is an all-steel 2022 hull, still uncommon among Egyptian liveaboards and valued for the sea-safety that steel construction implies. Divers frame it as the roomier option on the same Seawolf catalog, with a southern lean toward Daedalus, Zabargad, Rocky Island and the St John's reefs. The king suites on the upper deck are the stand-out cabins. As across the fleet, guiding reads experienced and weather-driven, and the offshore and Deep South weeks are pitched at current-comfortable divers rather than first-timers. Expectations run modern and comfortable over resort luxury.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Seawolf Steel compare to the Dominator?
The Steel is the larger, newer all-steel 2022 hull, taking up to 30 guests and leaning toward the southern Red Sea. The Dominator is the 2007 teak-finished 42m sister. Both run the same Seawolf route catalog, so site lists rotate across the fleet.
Why does the steel hull matter?
All-steel hulls are still uncommon among Egyptian liveaboards, and divers value the improved at-sea safety that steel construction implies on longer offshore crossings.
Which routes does the Steel run?
The full Seawolf catalog: northern wrecks, the Strait of Tiran, the Brothers-Daedalus-Elphinstone circuit, Marine Park South and the Deep South / St John's reefs. The southern weeks get the emphasis in its marketing.
Where does the Steel depart from?
Hurghada for the northern and Brothers weeks, and Port Ghalib for the southern Marine Park and Deep South routes. The port depends on the itinerary.
How much experience do I need on board?
The offshore and Deep South weeks want Advanced-level certification and comfort in current. The northern reef-and-wreck weeks suit intermediate divers.
Is nitrox available?
Yes, from an onboard nitrox compressor. Bring your certification card and log your fills as usual.
