About
Scuba Scene is a 48.5-metre new-build liveaboard launched in 2023, one of the largest and newest hulls on the Egyptian Red Sea. Fourteen cabins across five decks host up to 28 guests, with a pool, sundeck, pool bar and light-wood interiors that pitch it as a resort afloat. Behind the comfort sits a serious dive operation. The boat is tec-friendly, with rebreather and trimix support and nitrox blends from 40 to 100 percent, and a firm safety framing: the marine parks ask for Advanced or Deep Diver certification and at least 30 logged dives. Two routes anchor the season. The northern week is wreck-led, pairing the SS Thistlegorm and the Abu Nuhas wrecks with Shark and Yolanda Reef at Ras Mohammed and the Strait of Tiran, and it runs year-round from Hurghada. The southern Deep South week is shark- and reef-led, reaching Elphinstone, Daedalus, the Brothers, Rocky Island and St John's roughly March to November and likely staged from Port Ghalib. Government marine-park fees are collected by the operator. This hull suits divers who want space, comfort and a new boat as much as the diving itself.
What Divers Say
Scuba Scene is positioned at the luxury end of the Red Sea fleet: a large, modern 2023 new-build with a pool, sundeck and light-wood interiors, notably bigger and newer than most Egyptian liveaboard hulls. The pitch is a resort afloat paired with a serious dive operation, tec-friendly with rebreather and trimix support and a strong safety framing, while the entry bar of Advanced or Deep certification plus 30 logged dives for the marine parks keeps the offshore week aimed at experienced divers. A recurring theme is that travelers who choose it are usually after space, comfort and a new hull rather than the lowest price. The northern wreck week reads as the more accessible of the two, with the southern Deep South week pitched at current-comfortable divers.
