About

MY Blue is a 43-metre liveaboard built in 2016 for Blue Planet Liveaboards, working the Egyptian Red Sea from Hurghada and Port Ghalib. Twelve ensuite cabins sleep 24 guests and include a master and seaview cabins alongside the standard doubles. Free nitrox is the headline. It is filled on board from electric compressors and a membrane system, so extended bottom time on the reefs does not carry a surcharge. The route menu is broad. From Hurghada it runs northern wreck weeks and the Strait of Tiran, pairing the SS Thistlegorm and Rosalie Moller with the Abu Nuhas graveyard. From Port Ghalib it heads offshore to the Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone, then south to the Fury Shoal, St John's and the remote Zabargad and Rocky Island reefs. Rebreather diving is possible with advance arrangement. Northern weeks suit newer liveaboard divers; the offshore and Deep South weeks assume current experience. Government park and reef fees are collected by the operator, separate from the trip fare.

What Divers Say

Blue Planet positions MY Blue on breadth and value. It is a relatively young 2016 hull with genuinely free nitrox and a menu of named routes that lets divers pick anything from Thistlegorm-and-Tiran wreck weeks to the far-southern Zabargad and Rocky Island circuit. The master and seaview cabins come up as a comfort step-up over the standard doubles. Guiding is framed as flexible and weather-led, with itineraries openly described as a suggestion that flexes to conditions and guest experience. As across the fleet, the offshore and Deep South weeks assume current-comfortable divers. The pitch is comfortable, well-equipped diving rather than luxury finishes.
