Northern wreck and Strait of Tiran routes run year-round from Hurghada. The offshore Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone and Deep South marine-park weeks run roughly March to November and are weather-dependent.

About

The Seawolf Dominator is a 42-metre wooden liveaboard that runs Seawolf Diving Safari's full Egyptian Red Sea program. Teak finishing carries through the salon and the thirteen ensuite cabins, which sleep 24 guests and include three upper-deck king suites. The boat works both ends of the coast. From Hurghada it books northern wreck weeks and the Strait of Tiran, pairing the SS Thistlegorm with the Abu Nuhas wreck graveyard. From Port Ghalib it heads offshore to the Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone, then reaches the far southern reefs around Rocky Island, Zabargad and the St John's system. Nitrox comes from a dedicated onboard compressor. The Dominator shares its route catalog with its steel sister, the Seawolf Steel, so travelers pick the itinerary rather than the hull. Site lists follow the season and the weather. Northern reef-and-wreck weeks suit intermediate divers, while the offshore and Deep South weeks assume solid drift experience. Government park and reef fees are collected by the operator, separate from the trip fare.

What Divers Say

The Dominator's draw is range on a warm, wood-and-teak hull. The same boat is booked for northern wreck weeks, the Strait of Tiran, the offshore Brothers-Daedalus-Elphinstone circuit and the far-southern Rocky Island, Zabargad and St John's reefs, so travelers choose by itinerary rather than by vessel. The three upper-deck king suites get singled out as a step up from the standard cabins. Guiding reads as experienced and weather-led, pacing wrecks like the Thistlegorm and the Abu Nuhas graveyard around day-boat traffic and running the current-swept offshore plateaus with care. Expect comfortable and well-run rather than five-star. The offshore and Deep South weeks assume solid drift and blue-water competence.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Seawolf Dominator route is best for wrecks versus sharks?
For wrecks, take the North Wrecks or North & Strait of Tiran weeks, which cover the SS Thistlegorm, the Abu Nuhas graveyard and the Tiran reefs. For shark diving, the Marine Park and Deep South weeks run the Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone plateaus.
Where does the Dominator depart from?
Hurghada for the northern and Brothers weeks, and Port Ghalib for the southern Marine Park and Deep South routes. The port depends on the itinerary, so check when you book.
How much experience do I need for the southern routes?
The offshore and Deep South weeks assume Advanced-level certification and comfort in current and blue water. The northern reef-and-wreck weeks suit intermediate divers.
Is the Dominator the same boat as the Seawolf Steel?
No, they are sister vessels. The Dominator is the 2007 teak-finished 42m hull; the Steel is the newer all-steel 48m sister. Both run the same Seawolf route catalog, so site lists rotate across the fleet rather than being fixed per departure.
Can I dive the Aida and Numidia wrecks?
Yes, both sit at Big Brother and are visited on the Brother Islands & Elphinstone and Marine Park North weeks, weather permitting.
When do the offshore marine-park weeks run?
Roughly March to November. The Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone plateaus close through the winter storm season, and all offshore days are weather-dependent.
